Branching Scenario based eLearning

E-learning module for students who are preparing to embark on their study abroad program that educates them about the four stages of culture shock, it’s varying severity levels, possible outcomes and coping/resolution strategies.

Audience

University of Minnesota students who have filled out an initial intake form at the Learning Abroad Center and are considering, or actively preparing for their study abroad experience.

Responsibilities

Learning Experience Design, Graphic Design, Storyboarding, Prototyping, eLearning development.

Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro & Audition, Midjourney, Elevenlabs.

Outcomes

In post interviews and surveys students who completed the module indicated an increased awareness and clearer expectations of what they will face abroad. Their pre-departure stress and anxiety levels showed a reduction from high-mid to moderate or low.

Newly hired advisers reported feeling much less stressed about meeting and advising students in-person for the first time as well as a deeper understanding of advising best practices and what they can improve.
